On the Street in Turgeau’s Croix Deprez

People often say that one of the best ways to get to know a place is to sit out in a public place and watch people going about their business. There isn’t anything particularly interesting going on in this video, but I thought I’d share the scene from a street near one of our work sites in Turgeau, a neighborhood southeast of downtown Port-au-Prince.

Taken with a Flip Camera:

Also – thank you to those of you who told me that something funky was happening with my site on Tuesday and Wednesday. Apparently some malicious code made its way into one of the pages. Sorry about that – I’ve made changes and hopefully the site won’t cause problems from now on.

UVM College of Medicine Convocation

My cousin Linnea graduated from the University of Vermont’s College of Medicine on Sunday, May 17th. I shot a few clips with the FlipCam MinoHD and made this short video.

Unconventional Transport

One of the best things about traveling is coming across sights that you would never expect to encounter. I’ll be posting more still photographs from Oman next week, but I really enjoyed having a FlipCam with me on this last trip to capture some of those sights. Check out the video below of something I would call unconventional, but which is likely standard practice in Oman. I took it on the inland road from Sur to Muscat.
