Info
Welcome to PDGOODMAN.COM. I am Paul Goodman. I grew up in Vermont, spent eight years in Washington, D.C., and now live in Oakland, CA. I am an avid traveler, love photography, and am committed to the use of technology in support of social change. I’m the co-founder of Acopio, a company that makes web and mobile applications to help coffee producers increase efficiency, traceability, and market access.
I recently completed a master’s degree at the University of California, Berkeley School of Information where I studied topics at the intersection of technology, society, and business. Before starting my master’s program, I worked for an international development firm in Washington, D.C., where I applied appropriate technologies to international development challenges. I focused primarily on the use of mobile phones and new media in the context of governance and citizen engagement.
On this site I generally post photographs from my travels around the block and around the world. My photographs have been featured by the Washington City Paper, the DCist, BrightestYoungThings, ReadySetDC, the George Washington Hatchet, The Motor Report, Glimpse, the Surfrider Foundation, and the Prince of Petworth. I use a Nikon D300s and an Apple iPhone. For more information, feel free to shoot me an e-mail. I’m also on Twitter, LinkedIn, Vimeo, and Facebook. Finally, I use Dopplr.comto track my trips.
