INFO

Welcome to PDGOODMAN.COM.

I am Paul Goodman. I grew up in Vermont, spent eight years in Washington, D.C., and now live in Oakland, CA. I am an avid traveler, love photography, and am committed to the use of technology for social change. On this site I generally post photographs from my travels around the block and around the world.

I am currently enrolled at the University of California-Berkeley where as a master’s student in the School of Information, I am studying the intersection of technology, society, and business. Previously I worked for an international development firm in Washington, D.C., where I endeavored to improve social conditions through the use of appropriate technologies. I focused primarily on the use of mobile phones and new media in the context of governance and citizen engagement.

My photographs have been featured by the Washington City Paper, the DCist, BrightestYoungThings, ReadySetDC, the George Washington Hatchet, The Motor Report,  Glimpse, the Surfrider Foundation, and the Prince of Petworth. I use a Nikon D300s and an Apple iPhone. Sometimes I use CameraBag or BestCamera, iPhone applications that process images. You’ll see the CameraBag or BestCamera tag on posts featuring those images.

For more information, feel free to shoot me an e-mail. Also, for automatic updates, please sign up below or subscribe to the RSS feed at right. If it gets annoying, don’t hesitate to unsubscribe.

I’m on Twitter, LinkedIn, Vimeo, and Facebook. Finally, I use Dopplr.com to track my trips. Travel since December 2008:

“Be Well, Do Good Work, and Keep in Touch”
